The Big Easy — bigeasypetaluma.com — Problem: The Big Easy, a downtown Petaluma nightclub, needed live events and artist listings online—and a way for staff and performers to update the calendar without a developer. Solution: Built over six weeks with React, TypeScript, Vite, and Firebase (Auth, Firestore, Storage, Cloud Functions) on Vercel. The public site lists events and artists with search and calendar subscribe (.ics). Artists use a portal to submit new shows or edits; staff review and approve in admin, which publishes to Firestore and sends Resend email alerts. Cloud Functions mirror public listings, power the ICS feed and sitemap, and flyer uploads run through Storage with thumb/display sizes via Cloud Run. Outcome: A mobile-first venue hub with invite-based portal access, a wall-calendar editor, bulk show tools, and a real publishing workflow—not static pages.
